Hi lucky123

When you are playing the video, you can click the "menu" key on the remote control, and then turn off the subtitle switch. Here we provide the screenshot for reference, hope it could help you out. Thanks!

Hi I am not using the original remote, am using a Rii RF remote without a 'menu' key. Any other key on the keyboard that will bring subtitle menu up?

I found a solution. Most keyboards in android maps Ctrl-ESC as menu key. I now tried on 2 different brands and it works. So if you dont use the standard remote but maybe a RF / bluetooth keyboard without menu key then hold 'Ctrl' button and press 'ESC' button.

But it would be nice to put setting in my home cinema 'settings' menu to turn off subtitles by default
